Each license is negotiated per dataset, and the seller approves every buyer. The commercial terms vary. The restrictions below are in every license.
Commercial terms
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Allowed uses | Training, fine-tuning, evaluation, or a subset of these |
| Length | When the license ends |
| Exclusivity | Whether the seller may license the same dataset to others during the term |
| History price | The price for the records up to the first delivery |
| Refresh price | The price for each accepted monthly batch, if the license has a refresh term |
Restrictions in every license
- No re-identification. You may not try to identify any person or company in the data, alone or by combining it with other data.
- No resale. You may not sell, sublicense or redistribute the data.
- No combining to identify. You may not join the data with other datasets in a way that could identify anyone.
- Use within scope. You use the data only for the allowed uses during the term.
- Deletion. You delete raw delivered data as the license requires, including when it ends.
- Audit. We may audit compliance with the license.
- Flow-down. Anyone you give access to, such as a contractor or a cloud provider, is bound by the same restrictions.
Refresh terms
A license with a refresh term receives each new monthly batch of the dataset once we accept it, and pays the refresh price for each one. See Data formats for how batches are structured.
Breaches
If a buyer breaks a license, we enforce its audit, deletion and indemnity terms on the seller's behalf and stop selling to that buyer.
